2013….It’s Been Great…

2013 has come to a close and not without its ups and downs in everyone’s personal lives, but also much controversy in all ends of the universe we live in. The biggest being the Zimbabwe Presidential elections (we all know how that went), Prophet Makandiwa and Angel’s “miracles“, and Pokello and Stunner’s sex tape, which I am almost ashamed to admit, was the most read/searched for post on this site, smh.

On a more personal note, the readership on the site has gone up tremendously, 3 times the readers I had in 2012 and I truly appreciate you all. More contests and giveaways are in the works for 2014, I can promise you that.

The Reality Of ‘Reality’ Shows: Insider Info Into The Storytellers Of ‘Reality’ Shows

The drama and shenanigans that surrounds these reality shows has always amused me I admit, and also left me wondering if any of these shows were authentic or if we were just victims of tv fodder. I wrote a post a few months ago and asked the same question and someone might have an answer.

I’m not about to try to convince you that every word and action in a reality show is scripted. It’s just not. Ever. Even the most heavily “produced” shows have some naturally occurring elements.

The recipe for every reality show is different. Sometimes writing and content manipulation are applied as sparingly as one would sprinkle a strong spice, and other times they’re the main ingredients. Some shows follow a natural timeline and endeavor to play reality straight, in which case the story team’s focus is applied to the compression of time. Other programs shred content like a salad shooter, stitching together bits of dialogue and action, repurposing scenes left and right.

There is no reality show I’m aware of that’s comprised of a straight-up, uncut piece of source footage. Someone’s there, pulling strings behind the scenes to at least some extent, on every reality show there’s ever been, compressing time and performing myriad other duties to make the end product more engaging and entertaining. So before you swear that Tami of Basketball Wives is a catty, ruthless person in real life, think about that for a moment….yes, I like her!

UPDATED: In Today’s Episode Of ‘They Should Have Never Given You People Money’….Souljah Boy Buys A $55 mill Jet

UPDATE: Soulja’s reps went back to TMZ and said it was all a lie. Moving on….
I am not sure of the last time this little ninja did a show, tour, or anything of that sort. Does anyone even remember his last hit….? Yeah, thought so. But somewhere somehow he figured he does enough travelling to warrant himself buying a jet. I learnt that most of these stars don’t own jets, they just have timeshares, but not Souljah Boy, noooo, he wanted his very own. Smh….

Soulja Boy doesn’t know the meaning of the word recession — because TMZ has learned, the 21-year-old rapper is dropping $55 MILLION on a new private jet.

A member of Soulja’s management team tells us … the kid bought himself a G5 jet as a birthday present to himself this week.

The jet cost $35 mil … but that’s just the beginning. We’re told the birthday boy is dropping an additional $20 million to pimp out his ride with all sorts of cool stuff … like 12 custom Italian leather seats, flat screen TVs, 4 liquor bars, a special travertine tiled floor, and Brazilian hardwood cabinets.

We’re told S.B. is also gutting the in-flight lavatory — and replacing it with a giant, LUXURIOUS bathroom. Oh, he’s also giving the jet a custom paint job … to include his logo.

And if that’s not enough for someone’s 21st — we’re told Soulja’s also spending $300,000 to throw himself a blowout birthday party at a Miami nightclub tonight … and Dwight Howard, Bow Wow, and Sean Kingston are all expected to attend.

I am not hating on this, hey, it’s your money Soulja, do you boo boo, but please show some damn sense to the youngins that follow your every move, show them the importence of saving and investing…just sayin…

This Will Be Interesting: Chad Ochocinco Is Now A Patriot

Ok, so maybe yesterday I spoke too soon about burning my Patriot jersey and spreading the ashes across the ocean, maybe it just too much. Late last night, I got news that  Bengals’ Chad Ochocinco will be joining the New England Patriots as a wide receiver on a trade. Things are starting to look up for the Pats after the seasons they have had. And esp with the absence of Randy Moss, I think this is an especially good move.

The influence of Bill Belichick, who has been tested by Randy Moss, Corey Dillon and other NFL stars with big attitudes, is about to be challenged again.

Colorful wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, coming off an offseason in which he had a soccer tryout, rode a bull, took a spin in a race car and waited to be traded, landed in New England on Thursday, ending his time with the Cincinnati Bengals.

That trade took place hours after the Patriots acquired problem-child defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth from the Washington Redskins.

“It’s always team first. That’s ‘The Patriot Way.’ If you can’t put the team first, you won’t be here,” said New England nose tackle Vince Wilfork.

“I like Chad,” Belichick said before last year’s season opener between the teams. “I like him as a player. I like him as a person. I like his enthusiasm and the fun he has with football, and I like how he competes on the football field. I have a lot of respect for that.”

They first grew close during Pro Bowl practices.

“It became a relationship beyond just a football player and a coach,” Ochocinco said. “He became a friend of mine. … He’s one that I look up to tremendously, one that I’ve never played for, but I show the same respect as if he was my own head coach.”

I take back what I said about the Pats over the last two season, however, I’m still crossing my fingers and hoping  the two new additions, that are known-problem kids, will work well with Bill. Go PATS!!
